People arrive Lhasa either by flight or train from Mainland China or Kathmandu, Nepal. Lhasa is Tibet’s capital and the capital of Tibet Autonomous Region. It contains two world heritage sites – the Potala Palace and Norbulingka Palace which used to be the residences of the Dalai Lama. In addition, Lhasa contains the number of significant Buddhist monasteries and temples, and Jokhang and Barkhor bazaar are other attractions where you can see around and get the popular restaurants to experience different Tibetan foods and shops to buy souvenirs. The distance from Lhasa to Everest Base Camp is 459 Kilometers where you will have a rough drive about 100KM from Tingri to Rongphu town or monastery. The Everest’s Base Camp locates 3.6 KM South of Rongbuk Monastery at the altitude of 5200m (17060ft). You can not drive up to the Base Camp. You have to hike or trek from Rongbuk Monastery to the Base Camp for a couple of hours.

The North Face or The North Col of the Mt. Everest (8848m) can be visibly seen from the Everest Base Camp (EBC). In order to approach this scenic place, you will follow the itinerary from Lhasa to the nearest border to Nepal and Tibet. The trail splits from Tingri and follows the rough road to Rongbuk Monastery. The nest day early in the morning, you will hike to EBC either by walk or hiring horse cart. After the devastating earthquake in April 2015, the road from the Kodari border has been frequently obstructed.

Two full-day sightseeing tours to LHASA including JOKHANG TEMPLE, BARKHOR BAZAAR, POTALA PALACE, and SERA & DREPUNG MONASTERIES. Overnight at the hotel.
Drive to Shigatse via Gyantse and Yamdroktso. Enroute visit Yamdroktso and Phalkhor and Khumbub stupa in Gyantse. Drive to Shigatse. O/N at hotel.
Early in the morning, we will leave for Ronghuk via Lhatse and Shegar. On the way, we will encounter a few high passes, Gyatso La, Gawu La, and Nyalam Passes. On the top of Gawu La, we will be able to witness the spectacular view of the Himalayan Ranges. We will follow the bumpy road to Rongbuk, it about 100 Km. O/N at guest house.
You will hike to Everest base camp either on foot or hiring horse cart, Explore around EBC and back to Rongbuk (4+4 KM) and drive back to Shegar. O/N at Guest house. [If time permits, drive to Shigatse].
Visit Tashilomphu Monastery; Explore around Shigatse and drive direct to Lhasa. O/N at Hotel.
Drive to Airport or Train station for the destination to either Kathmandu or China.
