Simikot Kailash Mansarovar Tour – 9 Night 10 Days allows you to explore the scenic picturesque landscapes along with Mansarovar Lake. Every year, thousands of devotees and travelers visit this holy Mountain Kailash, following a custom going back thousands of years. Pilgrims of several regions consider that circumambulating Mt. Kailash on foot is a holy ritual practice that will carry good fortune. The walk is made in a clockwise directing by Hindus and Buddhists. Followers of the Jain and Bon religions circumambulate the peak in a counterclockwise direction. The trekking trail around Mount Kailash Kora is 52 Km long which starts and ends at Darchen with two halts at Diraphuk & Zuthulphuk.

Kathmandu to Nepalgunj on schedule flight and stay in Hotel Siddhartha. Morning sightseeing tour in Kathmandu and after lunch fly to Nepalgunj and stay in hotel.

Early morning, fly from Nepalgunj to Simikot on schedule flight and continue helicopter flight to Hilsa and cross the border with 10 min walking. Then Tibetan guide will receive us and clear immigration formalities then drive to Taklakot (aka Purang). Guesthouse.

Today we will rest in Taklakot for acclimatization purposes so you should stroll around the Purang area to warm up your body with their climate. Overnight stay at the guesthouse.

Morning drive to Manasarovar Lake (4550m) and you can do puja and holy bath in the lake along with we will make circumambulation of Lake. Overnight stay at the guesthouse.

Today we drive to Yama dwar via Darchen and then we start parikrama of Mt. Kailash after Yama dwar. From Yama Dwar, we can see the first closest and clear view of Mt. Kailash. Those who cannot go for trekking will make darshan of Kailash from here and return back to Darchen waiting for another kora group. This day we have to walk about 5 hours at all. Yak will carry our all-essential types of equipment. Overnight stay at Guesthouse.

This day is very sensitive and has to Pass Dolma-La (5,670m) above sea level. The weather is unpredictable in Dolma-La and any time can change and start to a snow storm. So we try to start our journey as earlier as possible. In route can Darshan Gaurikunda. But it is very difficult to go and touch. Overnight stay at Zuthulphuk, Campsite.

This is the day to finish Parikrama (Kora) of Kailash at Zongjerpu. And drive to Purang via Mansarovar Lake. Overnight stay at the guesthouse.

Purang to Hilsa and flight to Nepalgunj & to Kathmandu After breakfast, we clear immigration formalities and drop down to Hilsa then take a helicopter flight to Simikot and connecting schedule flight to Nepalgunj & to Kathmandu. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Alternatively, you can proceed to the Kyirong border or Lhasa after the Kailash tour instead of returning the same way via Simikot.

Spare day in Kathmandu; attend Full Day Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley.
Spare day in Kathmandu (or in Simikot in case of weather problem)

Then, he was kind enough to suggest Tibet and we were like, why not? Since it’s a neighboring country and we haven’t visited it either. We ended up booking the 3 Country tour. Including Nepal yes! Nepal was very entertaining and with our very educated guide Anish! He knew his stuff. Smiling fella! Minus the rain coz we missed our helicopter ride to see up close and personal the all-mighty Mt Everest. But don’t get me wrong. Even if Anup knew that our helicopter ride would be canceled he still showed up, at 6 am! He kept trying and calling constantly if there could be any possibility that we could do the tour but sadly no. That is customer service at its finest. Haven’t encountered such customer service like his. 5 stars on that! Tibet was something else. Altitude sickness yes but we managed. Karma our guide was very accommodating and will give us time to wander around on our own. Knows how to manage time especially visiting the Potala Palace. When he said he’ll meet us at 7 am. He was at the hotel right on the dot. Talk about punctuality! Bhutan was magical! The moment when you land. Everything is just a breeze. Even immigration was very friendly! I have no complaints! Sangay our guide was great! We felt like we weren’t tourists. More like friends. He explained everything perfectly. He even told us to roll down our windows coz of the fresh air. The hike to Tiger’s Nest is no joke but Sangay was there all the way. We have no negative feedback the whole time we were there in the kingdom of Bhutan. A must place to visit! Our only concern was the breakfast at Shambhala Palace in Tibet. To us, it was a cool experience to have Tibetan breakfast such as the tsampa but to the others, they might not be able to enjoy it. Fewer choices of food but that didn’t bother us. Eggs, toast coffee, and tea. No continental breakfast here but we were happy about it. The hotel is nice though! Loving the touch of every piece of furniture they have. Hi-tech shower! When we had dinner they have to fetch it from the other hotel coz the cook wasn’t there anymore. They didn’t say the kitchen is closed. They still provide. We were shocked! We felt bad for the guy delivering the food to us but we gave him a decent tip. Wish we knew all their names coz they were all very nice to us from the beginning when we arrived greeted with a smile and the day we left. The security guard even gave us bottled water on the way back to Nepal. We will surely miss those hardworking folks over there! Keep smiling! One word. Anup will do anything to make your trip a memorable one coz ours was. Even side trips such as having breakfast and having us tried all the dishes or snacks that we wanted to try! Also, even if we were at other Countries he keeps in touch thru WhatsApp just to make sure everything was still in order. He even kept on checking the helicopter ride when we were away! PAYMENT & CANCELLATION 

Payment: 30% of the total tour cost is required as an advance deposit in order to confirm the tour with HimalayanWindows (HW). The remaining balance will be charged 7 days prior to the departure date. Payment can be made through Wire Transfer or Credit Card. We process your credit card payment securely and no extra fee is charged.

Cancellation: For cancellation more than 30 days before the Tour Start Date, No Cancellation fee is charged. For cancellation from 29 calendar days up to and including 4 calendar days before the Tour Start Date, a charge of 30% of the total invoice amount is charged. For a cancellation occurring within 3 days of the date of travel or No Show shall be charged 100% of the total invoice amount. Learn more about Terms and Conditions.

ACCOMMODATION & MEALS 

Accommodation: Accommodation is in twin rooms in cities unless a special request is made for a single supplement with an additional fee. Accommodation is in twin or dormitory at lodges on the trek especially in a peak season, it is difficult to find single/twin rooms in the mountains. Our main focus is to provide clean and safe rooms to our valued guests.

Meals: Basically, every package we offer includes breakfast; lunch and dinner are provided based on the cost we offer on the tour. In Bhutan, every package is on a full board plan that includes Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. During the trek, we provide all meals where you will need to pay extra for drinking water and snacks.

VISA REQUIREMENTS – NEPAL | TIBET | BHUTAN

Nepal Visa: Every traveler from any country who wanted to visit Nepal needs to obtain a Nepal Visa. Nepal visa can be obtained on arrival and some countries need a visa prior to the travel to Nepal. Make sure your passport is valid at least 6 months from the Tour Start Date. Make sure to obtain a multi-entries Nepal Visa if you are planning cross country tours.

Bhutan Visa Clearance: Every traveler from any country who wanted to visit Bhutan needs to obtain a Bhutan Visa Clearance prior to the travel to Bhutan. We obtain your Bhutan visa; you need to send your color scanned clear passport copy. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the Tour Start Date. Before flying to Bhutan, a Visa Clearance will be sent to you from your tour operator, you have to print the clearance paper and show it at the Druk Air/Bhutan Airlines counter during the Check-in. Tibet Group Visa (TGV): Every traveler from any country who wanted to visit Tibet from Nepal needs to obtain a Tibet Group Visa (TGV) in Kathmandu through the help of a tour operator. Make sure to land in Kathmandu 3-4 working days prior to the travel date in order to process for TGV. If you are traveling from China, no TGV is required, a Chinese Visa & Permit are needed, though.
