Manung Kot Danda is the hill station near Damauli Bazaar in Tanahun from where you will observe an amazing view of Damaauli Bazaar, Mountains, Gunadi Village. Also, you can see the rivers Madi, Seti, Saghe, and Buldhi. Manung Kot has become a popular destination for local visitors due to the influence of social media, especially from Tiktok. It has become a popular scenic viewpoint from where panoramic Himalayan views and beautiful mountains can be seen with sunrise and sunset.
Manungkot above the clouds
Manungkot Danda is situated at Damauli, Tanahun district in Gandaki State. It is located at an elevation of 1000 meters above sea level and the distance is 150 KM from Kathmandu and 43 KM from Pokhara. It takes about 30 minutes to drive from the Prithivi Highway to reach Manung Kot hill station.
You can take a private vehicle or public buses to Damauli from Kathmandu or Pokhara. Damauli is located between Kathmandu and Pokhara. From Damauli, you can take your private vehicle/bike or hike to the hill station; it takes about two hours to hike to the hilltop.
Manungkot is suitable for all-season; however, it is best to visit during January, February, March, October, November, and December. Manungkot is also famous for the best Cloud View along with the best Himalayan panoramic views.

You will have a breathtaking sunrise view and amazing white cloud early in the morning from the top of Manungkot. Also, you will have a great view of snow-capped mountains such as Annapurna, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Mt. Himchuli and etc. Besides, mountains, you will see the beautiful view of Damauli city, Seti River Sage Valley, and other surrounding hills.
The area is believed to be Tapobhumi for Vyas Rishi and Parashar Rishi. In 2032 B.S., the place had around 60 houses. In 2025 B.S. as Damauli was declared headquarter of Tanahun and Prithivi highway was made there. Many People from Manungkot shifted because bringing water there took 4-5 hours.
Many politicians gave fake promises about bringing water supply there but nothing happened. There are only 7 houses in that area now because of the water problem, out of which 3 houses have stayed there because of slight tourist inflow in recent years. Thanks to Social media, Now Manungkot is one of the most popular places in Nepal.
